BeMobile brings back ‘Ke Ya Rona Festival’

After introducing the BeMobile Ke Ya Rona Festival, in 2013 and the absence of the event last year, the mobile network will bring the second instalment of the festival again this year in July 18th at the Majestic Five Hotel in Palapye. Like the first installment, the festival will feature creme de la crème of the music industry including Ringo Madlingozi, Socca Moruakgomo, Selaelo Selota, Kearoma Rantao, Trompies, Dj Sid, Oskido, Dj Sala and Dj Milton.

“Due to the resounding success of the first festival, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL), the holding company of BeMobile, saw the need to use it as a platform to reach out to underprivileged communities and raise funds for its Corporate Social Responsibility drive, whilst at the same time reaching out to its customers. BTCL has once again engaged Urban Communications and Streethorn Promotions to organize, market, and promote the event to enable the company to harness fully the music platform in raising funds for social responsibility initiatives. The target for this year is to sell 2000 tickets at P350.00 per ticket, which doubles the targeted figure for 2013. Funds raised will directly benefit charities,” said BTCL Company Secretary, Kaelo Radira.

The festival will be a daylong spectacle of regional and world class music. It will also be steeped in the relaxing ambience of the Majestic Five Hotel.
The 2013 music festival was held in March and was headlined by jazz maestro and composer Jonas Gwangwa, Shanti Lo, Ndingo Johwa, and the famed DJ Douglas Mosadi, DJ Sid, SK, Sala, Peter T and Tshipydy.
