Wedding Expo billed for Serokolwane Lawns

Just a stone throw away from the city along the A1 road lay the Serokolwane Lawns, a famous spot for hosting outdoor wedding ceremonies and other festivities. The venue will this Saturday host its inaugural Wedding Expo which will be a visual feast of colour and creativity by different diverse wedding vendors. Expert advice, live entertainment and fashion shows will feature among the day’s activities. The expo will showcase wedding products in a chilled festival vibe.

“The wedding expo is important for the wedding industry as it plays a crucial part especially for those who have plans of getting married. An expo is an exhibition organized to enable companies and individuals in a specific industry to showcase and demonstrate recent market trends. We have  exciting activities lined up for the day including a fashion show which will run three times during the event, a kiddies corner, performance by Lizibo and music by BT,” said event organizer, Thato Mahube.

Mahube added; “There are various wedding expos around the globe which help to increase international participation in the industry. They differ in terms of nationalities, cultures and identity. Serokolwane Wedding Expo provides a unique offering to the Botswana context as it will provide a platform for a number of key players in the wedding industry to showcase their products and services. Serokolwane Lawns strives to pull industry players who provide wedding planning services, decorations, clothing , catering companies, invitation card vendors, honeymoon destination, wedding cakes, legal services, beverage distributors, financial services providers and more exciting components that relate to the wedding space. We will be showcasing Thabi D’s designs, Purple tulip, Mosieur and African print by Jemima  Othman.”

To promote the event, Serokolwane has also put together a giveaway package to one lucky winner whose purchase of the wedding Expo ticket automatically qualifies them to enter the draw. The package includes a deco package priced at P30, 000.00 for a couple which will host their event at the farm. Serokolwane Lawns in partnership with Cigar Lounge, will also host an after party dubbed ‘The Wedding Jam’ at the Cigar Lounge in Phakalane starting from 9pm. Entrance fee to the expo is P75 adults and children aged between 6 and12 pay P30.

“Having realized that couples spend a lot of money on their wedding outfits which they only wear once, and for just a few hours, it was only fitting to host an event where individuals can come dressed in their wedding gowns, tuxedos, suits, matron of honor and bridesmaids outfits. The event will avail couples and their bridal parties the opportunity to wear their outfits, party together and relive their special day,” Mahube explained.
