Mochudi Centre Chiefs Public Relations Officer Clifford Mogomotsi has stated that his club has no personal problems with Township Rollers despite both clubs’ off field battles, the clubs are currently embroiled in a case questioning the authenticity of the transfers of Ofentse Nato and Terrence Mandaza.
After two rulings from the Botswana Premier League Disciplinary Committee and the Botswana Football Association, which had dismissed Chiefs’ cases, the Kgatleng giants’ latest appeal is set for a ruling from the BFA’s Disciplinary Committee today (Tuesday) at the Lekidi Football Centre.
Despite their cases being dismissed by different bodies, Magosi are adamant that they have strong cases against Rollers and they will still pursue another route “until justice is served” if their latest appeal is not successful.
“We have nothing personal against Rollers, we are not bitter. The rules are available in black and white and they should apply to everyone, including Rollers. Lately we have been labelled as a club trying to cause chaos but we want everyone to understand that our only aim is to see justice prevailing. We are fulfilling our purpose as an affiliate by raising issues that we feel are against the rules,” said Mogomotsi.
“We still believe that Nato and Mandaza were not properly registered. Correct procedures have been followed in our pursuit of justice, we have done our part. If our appeal is successful we should be given a place in the Mascom Top 8 final at the expense of Rollers,” the Chiefs PRO added.
Mogomotsi also revealed that should their latest appeal be unsuccessful, they will take the next step by filing yet another appeal at the National Appeals Board and possibly CAF afterwards. That could mean that this weekend’s Mascom Top 8 final between Rollers and Orapa United could be played while Chiefs are still protesting, according to Mogomotsi.
“We need to exhaust every option at our disposal, our next step would be to take the matter to the National Appeals Board, CAF would be another option if it drags on,” the Chiefs spokesman concluded.
