Hildah Binang led Tiger Sharks to a 60-59 victory over fellow compatriot Letang Mogotlhwane and the Sneakers Stingrays on Saturday in a closely contested Singapore Netball Super League encounter. The two Botswana players faced off for the first time this season and Binang prevailed.
Both players’ teams had won their latest fixtures last weekend. As a result they were both tied on 13 points heading into their encounter, Sharks’ victory has seen them separate themselves from Stingrays.
Binang’s side continued their good run of results with a 56-49 victory over Fier Orcas the following day.
They have now recorded three consecutive wins since Binang’s season debut loss. The club boasts a 75 percent win ratio since Binang’s arrival and she could be in line to win another Most Valuable Player (MVP) award if she continues to lead her team to more victories.
Mogotlhwane’s club was not deterred by their loss against the Sharks as they dusted themselves off to record  46-43 win over Mission Mannas.
The Botswana duo’s clubs are both in playoff contention as they are still among the top four teams in the league. Binang and Mogotlhwane’s teams are set to reignite their rivalry in the post season semi-finals if their positions do not change from now until the end of the regular season.
