Serbian coach willing to listen to local offers

Former Gaborone United head coach Dragojlo Stanojlovic is said to be negotiating with foreign clubs as he hopes to get his coaching career back on track. The Serbian mentor has not had the most pleasant of stays since arriving in Botswana in 2013 as head coach of Mochudi Centre Chiefs, despite having spells with more than three local giants.
Drago’s latest stint was at the helm of GU, where he had to part with the club, at the start of the second round of this current season.
According to the former Extension Gunners coach’s agent Simisani Chilisa of 90 Plus Promotions, his client is currently negotiating a move away from the country. “Drago is still looking for a club, he is currently negotiating deals outside the country, but we can not reveal anything at this stage,” said Chilisa.
Chilisa, who is one of Botswana’s four FIFA accredited football agents, said the reason why they are looking beyond the country’s boarders is due to the fact that Drago feels ‘hard done’ in his previous stays with local clubs.
“He feels hard done from all his previous situations with our local clubs, and hence we are looking for a move outside the country. At the moment he is currently sorting a contract dispute with his former employers, which once is sorted we will be able to know his next move,” he added.
“We are not closing ourselves to local options, if an offer from any local club arrived, we will certainly look into it. He is an experienced top coach with a pedigree, who deserves to compete at a high level,” Drago’s agent told Gazette Sport.
Stanojlovic still remains active in local football, he is currently involved in offering coaching tutorials at a certain academy in Gaborone.
