Artist and comedian, Junior Sekolokwane popularly known as Jujuvine will release his first comedy DVD titled Metlae ya ga Jujuvine Vol. 1 mid July this year.
The DVD will be a compilation of the popular skits he has shared on social media as well as the new material he is currently working on. Jujuvine’s skits have gained popularity through the SADC region and have been extensively shared on social media.
“I managed to gain a lot of followers from Botswana and South Africa and the demand for the funny videos I post online is huge. They want to have all the videos, so I decided to make a compilation and throw in new material,” Jujuvine said, also revealing that he will release more DVDs following this.
Jujuvine started his comedy career in earnest in April this year, becoming one of the country’s most booked comedians. Although his approach to comedy is slightly different from the norm, his style has been greatly appreciated and led to him receiving a standing ovation in Mafikeng, South Africa.
“With every video I post there is relevance, I understand what my audience like and keep up with the times. The other advantage is that I keep introducing characters such as Moruti Mahatshehatshe and Kgatleng FM. Of late I introduced another character by the name of Mamito and she is currently trending,” he said.
With his brand growing ever so big, Jujuvine has been booked in other countries- something he says he is grateful for.
“The support is overwhelming and I am thankful. Hard work pays. I have been contacted by many corporates giving me jobs; just last week I had an event with FNB where I was a judge and did comedy. They loved my performance,” he said.
His upcoming events include a performance with Francia Francis Odega of ‘Gerarra here’ fame on the 30th of June at  Stanbic Bank Piazza. He is also set to perform  at Dinokeng Youth Expo in Mathubudukwane on 2nd July and on 2nd September at Gaborone International Music and Culture week.
