South African National First division (NFD) side Cape Town All Stars are leading the race to land the signature of towering BDF XI defender Mosha Gaolaolwe, they are set to battle Township Rollers for the player’s signature.
Gaolaolwe was part of the Peter Butler’s Zebras side which came in second at the just ended COSAFA Cup, impressing the Cape Town based outfit. This publication understands that Gaolaolwe signed an improved contract with the Mogoditshane side last year, however local clubs Rollers and Orapa United have shown interest in buying him out of the contract.
“All the teams that are chasing Gaolaolwe have to respect that the player still has a contract with us and he intends to serve the remainder of his contract with BDF XI. Rollers wrote to us enquiring on the availability of the player and we told them about his condition player, so nothing concrete has been offered yet,” BDF XI Public Relations Officer Thusang Jacob told Gazette sport.
However Mark Harrison’s Rollers will have to brace themselves for a transfer tussle, after reports leaked out that All Stars have out- bid them for the player. Rollers are reportedly willing to pay P100 000 to buy him out of his contract, the Cape side has countered Rollers’ offer R250 000 (P179 800), the player is set to decide where his future lies.
“Look we don’t want to make the mistake of breaking the signings quota like we did last year. We have written a letter to BDF XI on the availability of the player so we respect Goalaolwe’s contract. Having a player of Gaolaolwe’s caliber can boost us,” Rollers’ Secretary Khumoyame Masonya told this publication.
Meanwhile it remains to be seen if Gaolaolwe will serve the remainder of his contract which comes to an end in July next year or accept a big money move to Cape Town or Rollers.
