Ford master, Eddie Rasta Stole the show

The highly anticipated spin and speed round 4 show held over the weekend was a success. The show featured over six local spinners and two guest spinners from South Africa. Speaking to this publication, one of the guest spinners Eddie Rasta who graced the show with his tyre screeching and stunts said he was very honoured when  he got an invite. “I have been spinning for the past 20years and this is my first time in Botswana” said Rasta.
The Ford vs BMWs show was a melt down as Rasta was the only Ford spinners who went “head-to-head” with BMW spinners. Rasta went on praising local spinners “the talent in this county is unbelievable, the supporters also are very cheerful this is a good sign that the sport is going to the right direction”.
The Botswana Motor sport president Simon Modisane told this publication that they are working tirelessly to help grow and innovate this sport. Modisane noted that as an association they wish to register new local spinners and local clubs. “This sport is growing tremendously, the morale of supporters who always come in large numbers are the reason why we always take an extra mile to deliver in shows like this ” Modisane added.
The event organizer from spin and speed club Odireleng Mmolai said they are so happy with the turn up audience, we went all out to prepare for this prestigious event. He added that they always try to bench mark the local championships with the international standards by providing all necessary equipment and providing tight security for both spinners and audience is the primary goal.
He exclusively told Gazette sport that the next event will be in Maun, “this will be the first time ever we take spinning outside Gaborone and to add cherry on top we plan to involve female spinners,” the dates of the event will be communicated in due cause. Mothusi Alfred “king Joe” from team graveyard dominated this round 4 as he came first, followed by Thuso Mudongo “V-mad” from team Botswana spin maters who is sponsored by Shell came second, then self sponsored spinner Omphile Nthore “Montsho aka Tezza” came third. Local spinners used this championships to add points to the current log standing.
