The highly anticipated third installment of the Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) slated for the 10th December 2016 will be held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC)- in what will be a big night for urban music and culture.
“We at Yarona FM, cannot contain our excitement any further. It is pleasing to mention that since the voting lines opened on 15th September 2016 we have since seen an encouraging response from the fans. The voting lines remain open until 14th of November 2016, leaving us with a few days until the award ceremony, and as a result, I would like to encourage voters to continue sending in their votes in support of their favourite artists,” said Yarona FM Station Manager, Kelly Ramputswa.
Yarona FM created the annual music award ceremony as a way of contribution towards the development and celebration of local artists. The awards have grown in leaps and bounds and success over the years has come with support of key stakeholders that include COSBOTS, BOCRA and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture.
Ramputswa added that she was delighted that the awards are back for another year and looks forward to a momentous evening which will showcase amazing talent and celebrate the quality of music that has evolved over the years. “It is pleasing to see the growth and progression in all local acts in our music industry, they need to be reminded that this does not go unnoticed. I think this has been reflected in the choice of nominees this year,” concluded Ramputswa.
