  1. Job code 00103/2016/17: Manager, Research & Advocacy

Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Executive Director the prospective candidate would be required to research, think strategically and align member’s short and long term organisational needs with National Development plans/policies and programmes, arrange for collaborative solutions and packages them to assist in advocacy and lobbying engagements for members ‘benefit.

Key Results Areas

  • National Development plans, protocols and applied policy research
  • National Programmes/Projects identified and pursued
  • Resource Mobilisation Initiatives

  • Legislation/policy frameworks, templates and information availability

Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements:

  • Relevant Research or Economics degree qualification. Masters or Postgraduate diploma in research is essential.
  • Twelve (12) years post graduate experience of which ten (5) years should have been in middle management and (5) years in research or advocacy related field
  • Strategic thinking, negotiating, influencing, effective communications skills

Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Executive Director the prospective candidate would be required to facilitate collaborative efforts of member organisations in pursuits of their mandates in fulfilment of the aspirations of the country’s inclusive sustainable development agenda.,

Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements:

  • Relevant Social Science Degree qualification or related discipline. Masters or postgraduate diploma is essential.
  • Ten (10) years post graduate experience of which three (3) years should have been in NGO related or doing similar work.
  • Strategic Orientation, relationship building, influencing, effective communications skills, integrity, advocacy, financial literacy, networking.

Main Purpose of the Job

 

Reporting to the Executive Director the prospective candidate would be required to interpret BOCONGO strategic plan and develop operational plans, direct, control and consolidate the implementation of effective and efficient operational support and out sourced services such as IT, HR and general administration to support the deliverables of the plan.

  • Align Secretariat operational plans with those of members, other critical stakeholders and actors
  • Effective financial and other management systems
  • Management information and financial reports
  • Effective internal controls
  • Optimised utilization of resources

 

Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or business related field. Relevant Master’s Degree and Membership of an internationally recognized institution of professional accountants (such as CIMA and ACCA,) is an advantage.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience as a qualified Accountant, three of which should have been at middle management levels.
  • Thorough understanding of the Botswana socio-economic and business environment; Strategic orientation; innovation; business orientation; negotiation and influencing skills; teamwork and professionalism

 

 

 

  1. Job code 00403/2016/17: Communications and Public Relations Executive

Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Executive Director the incumbent will be responsible for executing   and coordinating communication with membership and act as advocates for members in order to help them build and maintain a positive relationship with critical stakeholders and protects BOCONGO’s reputation.

  • Effective implementation of BOCONGO Communications and Public Rations strategies
  • Quality presentations, campaigns, events, and press releases.
  • Complains resolution mechanisms
  • Section’s budget control.
  • Efficient, cost effective and good quality service
  • Resource Mobilisation

 

Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree in Communication or Public Relations field.
  • Eight (8) years’ experience as a Communications /Public Relations filed, three (3) of which should have been supervisory level. Valid Driver’s License
  • Responsiveness and agility, excellent communication skills, teamwork, Customer Focus, tenacious

 

 

 

Job code 00503/2016/17: Administration Officer

Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Administration, the prospective candidate would be responsible for the day to day running of the Secretariat, to serve members and provide excellent service to customers.

Key Performance Areas

  • Maintains records and ensures that all programmes facilitated by Secretariat are properly closed and archived.
  • Continuously monitors Secretariat costs/expenditure to ensure that it remains within budget.
  • Provides efficient, cost effective and good quality service to members.
  • Attend to general public enquires.
  • Initiates and execute the Secretariat administration duties including but not limited to office and equipment upkeep, procurement, internal service provision and logistical arrangements.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree in Business Administration or business related field.
  • Six (6) years’ experience in office administration related positions, two (2) of which should have been supervisory level. Valid Driver’s License.
  • Thorough understanding of the policies, procedures, effective communication (written), teamwork, Customer Focus, tenacious.
