Lobatse Meat Festival this weekend

Patrons from Lobatse and surrounding areas will once again tease their taste buds with a wide variety of beef recipes at the Lobatse International Meat Festival (LIMF) this Saturday at Lobatse Recreational Town Park.
Acclaimed traditional cuisine beef meat in the form of mokwetjepe, serobe, mokoto, Mogodu, tlhako tsa  dikgomo, steak along with pap will be on the menu for attendants  to choose from. According to the event organizer, Barolong Seboni, the festival organizing team found it conducive to offer a wide variety of beef for attendants to sample throughout the festival.
“This year’s event is no different from the past meat festival as we will celebrate beef as a staple diet of Batswana which is why we will be having the likes of Mogodu, mokwetjepe and serobe for people to experience”, Seboni told Time Out.
He revealed that a music show has been added to the activities of the festival while there will also be exhibition stalls categorised as corporate, VIP lounge and those catering for small entrepreneurs.
“There will be a music show on the day so doors will be open from 10am for people who want to come early and enjoy the festival. Also Exhibition stalls will be charged P500 as compared to the normal P1 000 and arts and crafts exhibitors will part with P300 for stalls,” he added.
Meanwhile Dr Vom,Vee Mampeezy,Mafitlhakgosi, Lucia Rantleru and Edwin Moreka are some of the acts confirmed to perform at the festival. Tickets are priced at P200 for adults and P50 for children under 13.
