Avani Resort & Casino, the business and social hub of Gaborone is celebrating the completion of a P79-million renovation.
The description, “Where Classic Elegance Meets Contemporary Design” perfectly describes the opulent yet relaxing hotel which is situated at the heart of Gaborone business district. 156 guest rooms and public spaces including the main entrance and porte cochere have been renovated with the aim of introducing AVANI’s signature design hallmarks. The new contemporary design and technological enhancements make for a modern, functional and relaxing experience. Avani Gaborone is ideally located for leisure and business travelers and local residents seeking great food and a variety of entertainment options.
Describing the inspiration behind the new design for the hotel the newly appointed General Manager of Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, Riaan van Rooyen said when one ventures into the hospitality business they never stop spending money to align the infrastructure with what their brand stands for and seeks to communicate. “We went for the core Avani colours which are relatively neutral, being the plum, sand and blue. These colours show off the Avani brand as they give you a bit of warmth and not as dead and clinical like white,” he said adding that the hyper modern technology of USB ports on the headboards, reading lamps and the rain shower were among the highlights of the new renovations introduced to the hotel rooms.
The open plan, design for living lobby blends reception, lounge, eateries and chill out spaces. The interior is spacious and natural light has been used to great effect, allowing for a communal space where guests can relax, meet and eat. Another notable addition to the lobby area is an eater, The Pantry which offers fresh, quick bites for on the move, comfort food, fresh fruit juices, barista coffees and more.
Design elements include a leafy graphic design wall, ceiling punkah fans, wicker seating and parquet flooring. The menu features sandwiches, hamburgers, salads and pasta dishes and delivers on Avani’s promise of honest food, using freshly sourced local ingredients as well as naturally raised poultry and sustainable meat and seafood. Guests also have the option of two other great restaurants, Savuti Grill and Mahogany. Set within lush gardens is a swimming pool and pool bar.
