Umbro targeting two local ambassadors

Zebras’ technical sponsor, Umbro, istargeting to local based players to betheir brand ambassadors. The sponsoralready has Wits University midfi elder OfentseNato as their main ambassador but they areaiming to add two more players to their ranks.Nato signed a one year deal with the Englishbrand in October last year. Local Umbrorepresentative told Gazette Sport that the 23year old’s well mannered off fi eld behaviorconvinced them to elect him as a brand ambassador.The internationally acclaimed label signeda deal with the Botswana Football Association(BFA) last year after impressing them withtheir proposal.

 

 

Umbro was selected ahead ofother brands who had expressed their interestin sponsoring the national team. This publicationis reliably informed that Umbro’s pledgeto identify local players as brand ambassadorswas the key to their successful bid to replaceAll Kasi.They have obliged by naming the WitsUniversity midfi elder as their ambassador butthey are keen to add two more home basedplayers to their ranks. The deal includes merchandisesuch as track suits and personalizedboots with the players’ names imprinted onthem, the players will be given a year’s supplyof the brand’s products.

 

 

Meanwhile the brand has also signed a dealwith beMobile Premier League giants TownshipRollers. Leaked pictures have shown thatPopa’s kit bears a striking resemblance to theone previously used by the Swedish nationalteam last year.The former league champions is only thefi fth African club sponsored by the brand,they are listed alongside four South Africanbased teams such as Free State Stars, MaritzburgUnited, Platinum Stars and University ofPretoria FC.Reports indicate that some of Rollers’ playerscould be the local ambassadors elected thisyear.
