Crème dela crème for 2015 Summer Xplosion

This years installation of Summer Xplosion is the most talked about music festival on social media and will be featuring the cream of the crop when it comes to its artist lineup. The festival slated for the 2nd of April at Fairgrounds is headlined by artists that are currently trending in music scenes including Cassper Nyovest who just won five MetroFM awards, Black Coffee, DJ Kent, AKA, Naak Musiq (MJ), African Roots, TradeMark + Drummer and accompanied by local heavyweights ATI, La Timmy,Team Distant,Vee, Zeus, Scar, DramaBoi, MMP Family and Machesa Traditional Group.
Event organiser  DJ Kuchi said the lineup was inspired by picking those artists that are currently hot on the scene and what people like. “I always look at what’s happening currently in Botswana and across borders music wise, list down who I feel is relevant, then I narrow it down. Locally the industry has grown so much, and we’re happy to have over 30 local Djs/Artists,” he said.

The lineup also features local DJ’s including Chrispin The Drummer, Ricky Lamar, Groove CarteLL, Groovysouls, Gouveia, Chabo, Sly, King, D-Rock, Easy B, Blondie, Scratch, Phouboy, Cupid, Root, Izzy, Fauz, Boogie Sid, T-Man, Cassper The DJ, Kuchi, Deelow and Chef Gustos. “This year’s show will be bigger and better. Over the years we have gained experience on  what our followers want. This time around we promise to deliver that and more, along with the best of what South Africa and Botswana can offer. We will have great special effects, those that Xplosion is known for. Another highlight is that Black Coffee has been all over the world and now he gets  to come and perform here after a while. Also there’s this apparent tension with AKA & Cassper Nyovest, so we will see what happens onstage,” DJ Kuchi said.

He went on to say  the concept of the festival was to bring life to the local entertainment scene, something  they have managed to pull it off since 2011. “It takes a whole lot of dedication, passion and a lot of money to pull a show of this magnitude. We are currently looking at spending about a million Pula because paying artists, sound and security is not cheap. But because we want the best for our followers its a sacrifice we are willing to take. The idea is to bring value for our follower’s money and bring entertainment and artists talent to the people,” he added.
