DJ Kellz secures a slot in Motsweding FM

Local Dj Kealeboga Gaelebale known in music circles as Dj Kellz is one of the country’s oldest disc Jockeys and specializes in old school, R n’ B and hip hop . DJ Kellz confirmed to Time Out, that he has secured a mix slot in the South African radio station Motsweding Fm from 920pm to 940pm every Fridays on Felix the Cat’s show..

Kellz currently has a mix slot on Yarona Fm every Monday on Faki ‘safety belt and recently acquired one on Rb2 on Thursdays at 8pm with the Fresh Prince. He reveals that the Motsweding Fm slot came about from a networking session provided by his friends with one of the radio personalities at the radio station. “I believe it was a case of being at the right time at the right place and with the right people. A while ago I was playing at an event in Mafikeng and I met Douglas Mosadi, Felix the cat and a couple of others and the rest as they say is history,” he said adding that while he will be giving them pre recorded mixes; he will occasionally do live mixes.

Before he started focusing on radio mixes, Kellz was popular on the club scene, something which he says he will be stepping aside. “I have just come to realize that I have outgrown the local club scene. I now enjoy corporate and lounge set ups more than anything because they fuse well with my lifestyle, my target market and the type of music I play, so I have decided to leave local clubs to other upcoming Djs,” he says.

Although excited about his new mix slot as it is a testament that Batswana can make it internationally,  Kellz says he has no dreams of moving to South Africa like DJ Fresh as he has businesses in the country that need his full attention. Kellz runs a market research company and waterless auto care solutions company.
