Member for Parliament for Mahalapye West, Bernard Bolele has dismissed rumours that he will pave way for Minister of Justice, Defence and Security, Ramadeluka Seretse as a mere holiday’s talk.

The rumour that the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) leadership was in negotiations with Bolele to hand over his constituency to Seretse who lost to Kgotla Autlwetse in the party primary elections for Serowe North last year had gone viral on social networks.

“I heard about the issue.  I don’t know anything and I’m not going anywhere.  I heard people saying they have learnt that the party was in negotiations with me; factually I have never been approached by the party. I did not even bother to engage the party on the matter because what I understood was that the party was in negotiations with me, but because I knew there were no negotiations going on, why bother the party,” he said.

Bolele said if at all there is a possibility of that happening, it would be wise to wait for such a possibility. “Then that is when we can know what we are talking about. I am not resigning, I will remain in my constituency and not a single BDP leader has ever discussed that with me,” stressed Bolele.

BDP secretary general, Mpho Balopi rubbished the buzz as unfounded allegations. “We cannot, as a party, be responsible and want to comment on unfounded allegations aimed at discrediting Batswana’s decision and the BDP. We are not going to comment on such allegations,” he said.
