Moroke targeting the league

BDF Cheetahs coach Mmoloki Moroke has encouraged his side to show the hunger to become league champions this season. He insisted that outperforming rivals Gaborone Hogs and UB Rhinos throughout the season could help them win the Botswana Rugby Union A-Division League.

Moroke’s side returned to winning ways this past weekend after suffering their first defeat of the season before the Easter holiday break. The army side defeated high flying new comers Botho University Ryders 24-0 at Wharic Park this past Saturday.

“We played well and followed our pre game plan. We have reacted to the defeat against UB Rhinos in a positive way. We lost the Rhinos game because we did not have a game plan. We want to win the league and that is our only target that we can achieve that by outshining Rhinos and the Hogs because they are our main rivals. If we perform better than them we can be assured of winning the league,” said the BDF Cheetahs coach.

Cheetahs earned the win through two tries from Ernest Eddie and a conversion from Lekgobo Bafana in the first half. Aubrey Selelo and Amen Morafe added two more tries in the second half while Bafana scored two conversions after each try. The defeat was BU Ryders’ first loss of  the season since gaining promotion to the top tier of national rugby this year.
