Rollers want JJ deal sped up

Township Rollers have sought the assistance of the Botswana Football Association (BFA) in their pursuit of Cercle Sportif Don Bosco striker, Jerome Ramatlhakwana. Rollers are keen to sign the player on loan and negotiations between them and Don Bosco are ongoing but the former has approached the local association in a bid to speed up the deal.

Rollers’ secretary general, Khumoyame Masonya confirmed their interest in Ramatlhakwana during an interview with Gazette Sport. “We showed our interest in him by making an inquiry to his club. We followed up our interest by making a loan offer to Don Bosco, one which they are considering at the moment. Our intention is to have him on board while the DRC league is in its off season phase. Negotiations are ongoing, we have also approached the BFA to help us make the deal successful,” confirmed Masonya.

Masonya added that they will only make an official announcement concerning the deal once it is complete. “At the moment we we do not have anything more to share, if we have concrete details we will make an announcement of the deal, the bottom line is that negotiations are ongoing,” he concluded.

Unconfirmed reports state that an agreement has already been reached by the clubs but registration issues are currently holding up the deal. The transfer window deadline in Botswana has already elapsed and this publication has established that the deal might have missed the registration deadline.

The BFA will be expected to step in to write a report to FIFA notifying them of the authenticity of the deal or lack thereof. Ramatlhakwana has been granted permission by Don Bosco to seek a loan move as reported last month.
