Afrocentric clothing brand, Glotto has finally released its much anticipated Autumn/Winter collection, simply titled the AW’18/19 . The collection tells a universal story of absolute comfort and relaxation not only in one’s skin, but in the way it feels beneath their garments.
“The textures used in this collection are an ode to the juxtaposition of soft and rough textures we find in Sub Saharan Africa’s flora and fauna. From the red schemes of our mud to the orange rays of our setting sun to the light beige of our sandy sands, Glotto represents all of that in our AW’18/19 collection,” according to the brand’s founder, Mboko Basiami, adding that the garments cater to fashion lovers of all sizes, genders and skin tones.
The highlight of the collection are two statement sweaters, both made out of high quality velvet, lined with a soft layer of polar fleece embroidered with the threaded detail of the brands classic logo. The Glotto velvet sweater is available in chocolate brown and black, with the option of alternating the thread of their embroidery between black, gold or olive green. “This lux but practical sweater can be casually worn with your favourite pair of jeans or sweatpants or with a tight fitting pair of jeans and statement shoes on a night out. The Glotto velvet sweater adds the perfect touch of opulence to your look with the use of luxurious velvet. Its wide flared sleeves allow free movement and the lose neck line allows for the layering of other garments beneath the sweater,” Basiami advised.
The second sweater is the sculpted suede sweater, which is a unisex, regular fit sweater made with the finest velvet plaza and adorned with African flora. “This sculpted sweater is a unique, textured garment that tells the visual story of the African landscape with its tan colour scheme and subtle hints of forest greens. The Glotto sculpted sweater can be casually worn with jeans, cycle shorts or a denim skirt. It can also be layered with a pair of overalls and given a glamorous touch with tight fitting jeans, statement heels and some gold jewelry,” she said.
The Glotto Psyche is a body hugging three piece fit consisting of a cropped upper torso vest with a screen printed Glotto logo, a sexy high slit, back baring bodysuit and a pair of elastic cycle shorts. The outfit is made out of a three way scuba stretch material and is available in black, yellow, orange, fire engine red, burgundy, military green, olive green, baby pink and three shades of nude.
“The sexy Glotto Psyche is a versatile fit that not only provides comfort and flexibility of movement but also accentuates your natural curves in the most appealing ways. The versatility is also emphasized as the upper torso vest and bodysuit can easily pair with your favorite jeans and create a whole other look.
