This year’s instalment of the MTN Bushfire slated for 24-26th May sees the return of Botswana to the festival stage with the selection of Sereetsi & the Natives amongst an all-star international line-up. Every year, over 29,000 attendees hailing from 60 different countries make the journey from near and far to the peaceful Malkerns Valley of eSwatini for an energizing and uplifting weekend that celebrates the music and arts of Africa and beyond. More than a festival, MTN Bushfire is a living, breathing ecosystem deeply rooted in African soil, yet inclusive and welcoming to guests from all over the world.

“To make it easier than ever to get to MTN Bushfire from Botswana, the festival has partnered with Holiday World Travel & Tours to offer an exclusive all inclusive travel package. With MTN Bushfire 2019 tickets sales already up 70% at this time last year, fans of the festival are encouraged to book now for accommodation and travel and to secure your festival passes. With so many guests attending every year, the festival sells out well in advance, leaving many disappointed,” said Lara Preston.

Preston warned that, “when purchasing your MTN Bushfire tickets, please make sure to only buy via the website or official ticket outlets. Similarly guests are strongly advised to book travel and accommodation packages only with official travel partners, all of whom can be found on the MTN Bushfire website.”

The MTN Bushfire official campsite will open on Thursday May 23rd and campers can check in from 11:00am. All campers must have their full festival pass before purchasing their camping ticket. As in previous years, only those with full festival tickets will be permitted to enter the campsite. The official MTN Bushfire campsite leads directly into the main festival site and there are many options available for those who have their own equipment and those who do not.

“In 2019 it will only be possible to purchase Ready erected or Bring Your Own camping spots in advance of the festival. It will no longer be possible to purchase camping spots on arrival and camping spots are expected to sell out at least a week in advance of the festival” she advised.

The MTN Bushfire campsite, run by All Out Africa, has facilities including hot showers, flushing toilets and running drinking water available all weekend. There is a 24-hour café that sells breakfast, muffins, tea, coffee and juices throughout the weekend. The Rush Glamping Tents and Harambee Hotel are fully booked.

Additionally, just off the hot announcement of Nigeria’s ASA for MTN Bushfire 2019, another Nigerian superstar has been confirmed, Mr Eazi – possibly the most exciting musical export from Nigeria of the last few years, will bring his unmistakable version of Nigerian afro-pop to the fans at MTN Bushfire.

“Known for its Afro-centric ethos and its strong focus on African music, culture and the arts, MTN Bushfire is excited to host this incredible artist just as he returns from a US tour that will see him crossing the country and even performing at the highly acclaimed Coachella and SXSW Festivals,” they said.
