New Era College offers diverse programmes in the following disciplines: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Construction Industry, and Accommodation and Operations Services.

The name New Era College, was 10 years ago linked to a successful private secondary school in Block 8. This is what most people still link with the name. It goes to show that a good name and reputation is hard to forget.

Fast forward to 10 Years later, 2019, New Era College of Arts, Science and Technology is celebrating its 10th year anniversary as a tertiary institution that has created a niche for itself as the only tertiary institution that offers diverse engineering programmes from certificate to degree level. The Programmes that are approved, registered and accredited by the Botswana Qualifications Authority. This is important to note, as it is the ultimate seal of security to any parent that their child is going to a legitimate institution and the qualification that they eventually graduate with is also of the highest quality.

It is also imperative to note that the Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications that New Era College offers is one of a kind, with only two institutions currently offering it in Botswana. Together with the Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics, the two degree programmes are proudly ”home grown”.

New Era College of Arts, Science and Technology has also demonstrated capacity to equip ‘future-fit’ and industry ready graduates with the necessary skills not only survive, but to thrive through its robust industrial attachment programme. The industrial attachment programme is yet another way of ensuring that when the graduates complete their practical lab-based learning, they emerge as engineers of tomorrow, knowing full well what is expected of them by the industry.

The College has done well in cultivating and promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), popularly known as STEM in senior secondary schools by launching series of workshops for young people to encourage them to pay attention to STEM Subjects and to realise their importance for their future careers.

As part of New Era College’s countdown towards its 10th year anniversary celebration, The College launched the Ghodrati Foundation Scholarship on the 18th December 2017. The main aim of introducing the Ghodrati Foundation Scholarship was to educate and empower young Batswana to acquire an engineering qualification without having to depend on or wait for government sponsorship. The scholarship has since benefited a lot of students to begin their journey towards being distinguished STEM industry contributors and to attain a qualification in the engineering field.

As New Era College celebrates their 10th year anniversary, the College hopes to continue making strides in STEM education and promoting engineering as a career of choice for Batswana at large.
