Ouma Sekolole summits Mount Everest

In her quest to make history, cancer activist Ouma Sekolole is attempting to summit the majestic Mount Everest, the highest mountain on earth. She embarked on the expedition on 5th April to 8th June 2019 and was confirmed to be on the trek to Base Camp. Sekolole will also be raising awareness about cervical and prostate cancer, having lost her mother to cancer at a young age.

“I have been training well and in the right frame of mind to summit Mount Everest. I also ask that Batswana remain positive and put me in their prayers as that will also drive me to the summit,” she said.

Previously, Sekokole successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa on 20th February 2018. For the expedition, she has been supported by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Brand Botswana, Cell City, SkyWays Travel, Torch Studios, Ethiopian Airlines and Superfit Gym.
