The 5th Annual International Heavyweight Comedy Festival (HICOFEST) slated for May 5th at Avani Resort and Casino has added European comedian Rich Lyons to their lineup.
According to HICOFEST organizer, Gaolathe Kediemetse this will be the first time that the two-day comedy festival will be hosting a comedian from Europe also adding that the change in the lineup will not affect the prices of the tickets.
Lyons began his stand-up career in 1997 performing throughout Europe as well as in his native New York. In 2009, he was runner up at the London Bridge New Comedy Fringe Festival and has since become an occasional headliner in the UK comedy circuit. His comedy spans across a wide range of topics and, when the mood hits, he can drag out the keyboard to perform a few “comedy tunes”.
Meanwhile, Phenyo The Master Phaladi has earned himself a spot in the Swaziland International Comedy Festival (SICFEST). “Phenyo “The Master” Phaladi is definitely one of the funniest and most active comedians to come out of Botswana. He always brings clean, high energy, fun and clever comedy to any stage raging on the absurd, ridiculous and unbelievable,” explained Kedidimetse who says Phenyo, who will leave for Swaziland on Friday, is consisted and dedicated to his craft.
HICOFEST Tickets are available at Webtickets and Spar outlets from P300 (single) and P500 (double normal) while early bird tickets will be P250 (single) and P400 (double). The venue sponsor for the main event is AVANI Gaborone Resort and Casino and the shows start at 8pm.
