Makeup and beauty artist Belle Seabo launches cosmetic line, rosaGEM

GOSEGO MOTSUMI

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry Peggy Serame urged Batswana to support home grown talent and creativity at the recent launch of makeup brush line rosaGem, owned by Motswana makeup artist Belle Seabo. Serame said the official launch was clear demonstration of commitment and a bold testimony that Batswana are capable.
“Creativity and innovation are at the heart of our economic diversification drive initiative which aims to promote the growth of a vibrant and globally competitive private sector. The private sector is an engine of growth globally and we commend and encourage initiatives such as this one,” Serame said.
For her part, Belle Seabo of rosaGem brush line said she decided to take a career path of beauty which is usually looked down upon despite her law degree and masters qualifications. She says she officially embarked on the beauty journey after reading TD Jakes’ book titled, Instincts: which emphasizes that one’s instinct for survival will see them through if they are attuned to its frequency.
“After reading this book and consulting my mother, I was sure I was in the right career. I wanted to diversify this beauty industry and do something that has never been done or would make my work easier. The idea of makeup brush line was born,” she said.
Seabo designed and conceptualized a set of back to back brushes that could be used by an everyday woman to achieve a full makeup application. “Whilst doing my job of makeup application I realised that the available brushes did not apply well on our African facial qualities. I then made my brushes smaller for proper application and back to back so that one does not have to go back and forth searching for a certain brush. They are also labelled,” she said aslo adding that the set was selling for P650 and are available at Lush Lifestyle store at the CBD.
