Player now expected to sign for GU

As Kabelo Seakanyeng edges closer to a proposed return to Gaborone United, Gazette Sport has been informed that Chippa United had initially planned to keep the speedy winger. Until about two weeks ago, the club had already sanctioned a mass clear out of players, which also saw Thatayaone Kgamnyane leave the PSL club.
Although he was not a regular starter, Seakanyeng was a favourite amongst the technical team as they liked his work ethic and his attitude in training. The winger had impressed former coach Eric Tinkler in his first few training sessions and he made his first team debut a few days later.
“Chippa had planned to keep Seakanyeng because of his fighting spirit but I am told they are undergoing business rescue, and they cannot balance their books hence they released 13 players,” revealed Seakanyeng’s former agent, Olebile Sikwane.
According to Sikwane, the player was a part of three additional foreign players who were also released as a last minute decision. “The exit (of both Botswana players) was primarily based on a huge financial cost to the club. I think we are generally too expectant as a nation, the two players did not fail, they played 3 out of 17 matches, which in the first season in a foreign country isn’t too bad. Their exit is entirely a Chippa United internal housekeeping process, it has nothing to do with their ability,” Sikwane added.
According to multiple reports Seakanyeng has been spotted at GU’s training sessions recently and he is expected to re-sign for the club he left just six months ago. Meanwhile Kgamanyane has also reportedly penned a deal with Moyagoleele.
