Gaborone United are reportedly interested in signing  Mochudi Centre Chiefs’ soon to be free agent Tendayi Nyumasi during the upcoming transfer window. Nyumasi has also attracted attended from Extension Gunners but the Gaborone giants appear to have stolen a march on their rivals by holding preliminary talks with the Zimbabwean attacker.
A source told this publication that the player is resigned to leaving Chiefs as he does not expect them to  equal or better GU’s reported offer. Chiefs has abandoned awarding players signing on fees and that has not gone down well with numerous players.
This would be Moyagoleele’s second attempt to sign Nyumasi, they had previously pursued him in 2014 while he was at Ecco City Greens but backed out after a disagreement with Ecco about the player’s valuation.
Nyumasi, who can operate as a second striker or an out and out striker, has enjoyed a rich vein of form this season after scoring 11 goals to help Magosi win the league. GU are also said to have made a move for Chiefs defender Keabetswe Jenamiso to shore up their defence next season.
Moyagoleele successfully pursued and signed Thabiso Khunwane last season and they look set to sign yet another vital member of Chiefs’ defence. Jenamiso has been an ever present in Chiefs’ line up this season but he is currently sidelined by an injury he sustained in the semifinals of the Mascom Top 8.
Reached for comment about the reported transfer targets, GU coach Rodolfo Zapata told Gazette Sport the following, “I am very proud of the players that I already have. Probably we will need one defender, one midfielder and one forward to improve our team. GU have some of the best players in this country and a great history. I am very proud to be head coach of the biggest team in Botswana. I am very satisfied with my players. I set high standards for my players and we are working hard to fight for Mascom and BWPL. I already gave board members a plan for next season. Every player has a personally tailored training plan. We will train up to three times a day in pre-season.”
