British coach Mark Harrison revealed last month that he had struck a verbal agreement with Township Rollers Director Jagdish Shah, the club has now given him a vote of confidence by tying the 55 year old to a new two year contract to end speculation about his future.
The former Chippa United had expressed intentions of leading Mapalastina to next season’s CAF Champions when replacing Madinda Ndlovu, a feat he revealed his tenure at Rollers should be judged on. However, in the last beMOBILE Premiership games the gaffer revealed uncertainty over his future hinting he could be tempted by offers from South African clubs.
“No one has approached me regarding the extension of my contract so my future with Rollers is uncertain. We have a talented group of players so going in to the Champions League next season will be a dream come true for me as a coach. However, at the end of the day I have a family to look for so if a good offer comes along I will gladly take it,” Harrison told Gazette Sports last month.
A fortnight ago the Botswana Premier League Disciplinary Committee ruled that Rollers were charged P1, 000 for each game Ofentse Nato played reserving the 10 points that were docked initially at the end of the season.
Harrison’s side have been perched at the summit of the log with 67 points which guarantees them the 2015/2016 Premiership title. In a campaign with full of twists and turns in his debut season, not to mention some of groaning decisions Harrison managed to win silverware this season.
Rollers Director Shah told this publication that a new deal has been reached between the club and Harrison ending intense speculation that has been going on for quite some weeks.
“Mark will definitely be with us in the next season because he has agreed a two year extension with us. I cannot go much in to details about the contract but he is going to be around the block for quite some time. The club will release a statement soon but I can reveal that he has signed a two year deal with us keeping him at the club till 2018,” Shah told Gazette Sport.
