Ofentse Nato has reportedly submitted a request to terminate his Township Rollers contract following a trying spell at the club. Nato submitted the letter last month according to a source and he is seeking to terminate his contract with immediate effect in order to find a club in the January transfer window.

Nato’s request, pending Rollers’ response, has put many local clubs on high alert and they could sign the experienced midfielder on a free transfer. A reliable source informed Gazette Sport that Nato has decided to seek a move away from Rollers due to limited playing time.

The source also revealed that the player had a misunderstanding with former coach Nikola Kavazovic, this left him on the fringes of first team action. Nato experienced pain in one match, this left him with an injury scare and the player decided to do extra gym work according to the source, this did not sit well with Kavazovic who felt that the player should have participated in training and not decide to do gym work without his permission.

Kavazovic then suspended the player in the same manner he suspended Mwampule Masule earlier in the season. Rollers spokesman Bafana Pheto dismissed reports that Nato has expressed his desire to leave the club in an interview with this publication on Monday.

“He is in training as we speak. I have no knowledge of Nato requesting to terminate his contract, we have not received any formal or informal communication from him in regards to what you are saying. As far as we know he is still a Rollers player, he is still under contract,” Pheto told this reporter.

Pheto stated that the player showed signs of being unhappy under Kavazovic but he is now fully focused. “There was a rift between Nato and the former coach, this made him uncomfortable but the club is set for a coaching change and that is all behind us now,” Pheto concluded.
