Bouncy: the girl with a peculiar style

Maureen Maila well known as ‘Bouncy’ is Botswana’s first female Hip-hop reggae artist and one of the  upcoming artists ready to make a mark in the music scene. She  cut her teeth in the  music industry  early this year  and her most striking features are her dance moves, tone of voice  and    sense of style. She has had a few performances such as  closing the show for Vetkuk vs. Mahuta and Ganyani’s show in South Africa.

 
Bouncy is not afraid to show the world her creative side and he sense of style can is inspired by  pop star Lady Gaga’s her outlandish outfits, hair and  makeup.
“I studied fashion design and I design most of my clothes. I wanna be unique. my sense of style is influenced by Lady Gaga and Beyonce, ,” she said.

 
When it comes to her dance moves, the Gabane native is a twelve time champion in Botswana’s  dance society and a professional choreographer who is inspired by Ciara’s dance moves. With a Caribbean accent,  she could be easily mistaken for  a foreign artist.  She released her first official single ‘You gat it’ featuring Spiza Valentino and will be releasing her second single on the 27th of June called ‘I am a monster’ taken from her debut album.

 
“My music is a mixture of  dancehall, motswako and hip hop. I will be releasing my debut album end of this year. ‘I am a monster’ simply translates that as a woman , I can stand up for myself and do what I want to do in life!” she said.
