THABANG REGOENG

Kgatleng outfit Mochudi Center Chief’s big name players Lesego Galenamotlhale,Tendai Nyumasi, Ontse Ntesa, Lemponye Tshireletso and Pontsho Moloi are set for an unlikely upheaval exit at the end of the season while under fire coach Mike Sithole’s position at the club remains uncertain.
The 2015/2016 beMobile Premiership champions dealt a massive blow this January transfer window, as talisman Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi joined Extension Gunners as a free agent. Towards the end of their title winning campaign last season experienced captain Pontsho Moloi showed signs of his weariness since then he has been out for large spells of this current Premiership campaign, but it remains to be seen if he will finally close the curtain on his illustrious career.
Freed from demands of international football, the 35 year old’s body has showed signs of betraying him falling down the pecking order with the emergence of young players such as Thatayaone Ramatlapeng and Ayanda Molefhe.
Tshireletso who has been on Gaborone United’s radar for quite some time now, scoring 14 goals this season is expected to complete the move to Moyagoleele who are also in transition. This publication understands that a proposed move to United in the past January transfer period was on the cards but the deal fell through at the eleventh hour.
Sources close to the club have said that the club is planning to trim a significant wage bill to cope with grossly reduced revenues as it has been reported that a number of player’s contracts have expired.
Galenamotlhale is one such player who could be part of the exodus as he has not signed a new deal.
Peleng giants, Gunners are scouring in the market for a defensive middle field player having identified Galenamotlhale as their number one target along with fellow compatriot Nyumasi.
Another player who could make his way out of the Maaparankwe camp is burly fullback Ontse Ntesa who has seen limited action and latest news link the former Ecco City Greens left-back to Jwaneng Galaxy.
“Ntesa has been quite unfortunate with injuries but other teams have shown interest in the player so it is high likely that the player will look for greener pastures. His former club Ecco City Greens have been tabs on him as well as they attempt to make a return to the Premiership,” the source told Gazette Sport.
The former Zebras international has flattered to deceive at times in a Chiefs shirt and has only shown his best form in a fleeting spells, with injuries limiting his appearances at Magosi. While the finger  may be pointed at the fabled club hierachy, Sithole’s team has not been consistent and it something that has hugging over him this current season. Two underwhelming Mascom Top 8 semifinal losses to Rollers [home and away] as Chiefs bowed yet again out of the cup.
Information relayed to this publication is that Sithole’s tenure at the club has largely been judged on the success in the Mascom Top 8 competition, a cup which has eluded the club down the years. However in Sithole’s defense, Chiefs failed to sign a striker and a defender which in the past transfer window signing while other title contenders opened their cheque books in the market.
“People can tell from a distance that the club board has lost trust in the coach because they were particularly eyeing the Mascom Top 8 cup. It is quite unfair on the coach because if you look at the club they did not buy enough quality players with all due respect to Thato Kebue and Arnold Mampori but other top teams in the Premiership in all honesty got more depth,” the source concluded.
