Reigning beMobile Premier League champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs have confirmed that they are still locked in contract talks with winger Galabgwe Moyana after his stay at the club elapsed at the end of last season.

Moyana’s contractual issues were at the heart of transfer disputes at the beginning of last season, after the player was said to have agreed two separate contacts with rivals Chiefs and Township Rollers upon his return from Polokwane City. The Players Status Committee (PSC)’s intervention spelled Moyana’s return to the Kgatleng giants to complete his remaining five months on his contact.

Reached for comment on the bases of the latest surrounding the Moyana’s future with the club, Chiefs Public Relations Officer (PRO), Clifford Mogomotsi confirmed that they are currently engaged in talks with the player.

“We are still talking to the player and we hope to reach an agreement,” confirmed Mogomotsi. He also revealed that the player’s ‘heart’ is still with the Kgatleng giants and had reported for pre season with the team despite being out of contract.

“He is training with the team and that is a sign that the player still wants to stay. The negotiations are ongoing. We will see how everything goes,” added the club’s head of communications. Mogomotsi ended off by indicating that Chiefs were not fazed off by competition for the player from other league sides.
“We are in no hurry, we will take our time in the discussions, we are not worried that some teams are also interested in the player,” he concluded.
Although Chiefs appear in pole position to tie down the Notwane youth product, rendering on reports before Moyana was lawfully ordered to join Magosi, it was believed that the player fancied a move to Rollers.

Rollers’ spokeperson, Phempheretlhe Pheto stated that they were aware of the player’s current situation but have not yet made contact with him.
“The new coach (Mark Harrison) has not yet said anything of him, it is the coach who tells us what he needs and we act on his wish-list. We are aware that the player is currently a free agent and we were previously interested in him but at the moment we are not interested,” he stated.

Pheto however revealed that the club is desperately in hunt of a left winger to provide cover for Kobamelo Kebaikanye, who is also linked with a move away from the club ahead of the new season.
