With the January transfer window beckoning , whether it is a club record signing or a clever addition to a team’s squad there is always some value in the transfer market, in the be-Mobile Premiership this season there has been plenty of moves with many of them proving successful for their respective clubs.
Gazette Sport reporter Thabang Regoeng looks at the five new signings that have impressed in the first round of the Premiership with the year drawing to a close and the season at the halfway stage.

Patrick Kaunda (Platinum Stars to BDF XI, loan)
20 goals in an awful campaign for FC Satmos in the 2013/2014 league campaign gave everyone a hint that the Zimbabwean talisman was a real deal in the local Premiership, as South African based outfit Platinum Stars came calling for the golden boot award winner signing him on a two year deal.
However, the striker looked a shadow of himself in Dikwena’s colors as Calvin Johnson opted to send him out on loan to BDF XI where he has successively led the line for Beston Chambesi’s side scoring 4 goals in the Premiership also grabbing 2 goals in the Mascom Top 8.
Reports suggest that BDF XI are keen on extending Kaunda’s loan deal to have a realistic chance of winning the Mascom Top 8 and second place in the league that Chambesi has been mandated to accomplish.

Mwampule Masule (Township Rollers to BDF XI, loan)
After making way for Kabelo Dambe in Township Rollers goalkeeping fray, Mwampule Masule’s loan move to fourth-placed BDF XI have come in handy for Matebele who are currently on the fourth spot in the league.
The latter’s eye catching displays earned him a starting berth in the international friendly against Ethiopia, making him Peter Butler’s preferred choice after the Rollers shot-stopper. While some pundits were skeptical when Masule moved to BDF XI, he has gone about convincing that he is more than capable of filling the void left by former instrumental goalkeeper Takudzwa Ndoro who left Matebele in the summer.

Carl Finnigan (Gateshead United to Township Rollers)
The former Newcastle youth player arrived at Popa with a huge price tag having cost close to a staggering P45 000, has lived up to his high expectations notably his big match temperament against current champions Mochudi Center Chiefs proving a nuisance for Keabetswe Jenamiso and company earning plaudits from Popa faithfuls.
The striker has seemingly gone up the ranks in the quest for a starting line up ahead of Jerome Ramatlhakwana although his three goal tally so far in the Premiership might tempt   Mark Harrison to consider other offensive alternatives. Finnagan’s incredibly quick adaptation to the Premiership in such a short space of time makes him one of the greatest additions to the log leaders.

Lemogang Maswena (Notwane to Orapa United)
Ntosh as he is affectionately known made a decisive move to the mining club after Notwane got relegated from the Premiership, a signing that has been fruitful so far for the Mascom Top 8 semifinalists.
The dazzling winger has established himself as a regular in Madinda Ndlovu’s reign at the Ostriches scoring four goals in two games in all competitions for the Ostriches earning a call up to senior national team coach Butler.
In the past transfer window it was rumoured that Maswena agreed terms with Orapa but the move failed to materialize as Notwane felt he was key to their relegation survival, however Ndlovu’s  arrival at Orapa United persuaded the midfielder-cum-striker to sign for the Premiership contenders.

Joel Mogorosi (free agent joining Township Rollers)
Many questioned Mogorosi’s decision to move back to Rollers after he was relinquished off his services by Bloemfontein Celtic after falling out of favor in Ernest Middendorp’s reign at Siwelele but he has featured prominently this season starting 12 games in Mark Harrison’s side.
The 31 year old’s body has showed no signs of betraying him remaining reliable in the first round of matches in the Premiership getting the nod ahead of fans favorite Kobamelo Kebaikanye, managing to score six goals so far in the first round of matches.
