The Robete hit-maker Tomeletso Sereetsi, leader of the rising local folk jazz band, Sereetsi & The Natives last week partnered with Future Sustain International (FSI)  in an agreement to mutually push each other’s brands. FSI is a locally owned  mobile and electronic devices business that houses Samsung stores across the country. According to Sereetsi, FSI designed a mobile application for him which is a resource that promotes heightened interaction with his audience.
“The application carries information on my tour dates, lyrics, videos and related content. It offers convenience for my audience and just the potential to sell my craft to markets without borders as it is found on a global platform, Google Play,” he said.
He added that the mobile application supports his efforts to break into international markets as it can be downloaded from anywhere in the world. He also got an endorsement deal which will involve FSI products starting with a Samsung S7 which will help him deliver very well on communicating with publics across various media. “It’s a new relationship that we are committed to nurturing so that it consistently stays responsive to our capacities to jointly harness opportunities within our trading environments,” he said.
During the launch Sereetsi performed some of his unreleased materials, “I am constantly writing new music and add it regularly to keep my sets fresh. I however do not intend to release any new material anytime soon. Those who come to our shows can expect such pleasant surprises as new unreleased songs performed live,” he added.
Keynote speaker at the launch, CEO of  BOFINET,  Mabua Mabua said, “This is an exciting time more so that we are looking to create more content from Botswana. We pay a lot to access content locally because we pay for infrastructure between Europe or USA to Botswana, that is why we pay more to access the internet. Therefore the more content that is created locally the better,” he said, adding that as BOFINET they were very interested in participating in content development as it is also a job creation opportunity.
Meanwhile, Sereetsi, who is currently on tour is hoping to make the lineup of for the upcoming Standard Bank Joy Jazz in South Africa.  “There is one coveted slot remaining and a shortlist of bands, a lot of them from SA have been selected, including ourselves. The band with the most votes will play the festival. We therefore appeal to Batswana to vote in large numbers to get us in by simply liking our video on the festival’s Facebook page,” he appealed.
