Stanbic expects first-half profit before tax to rise by 10 to 20 percent, equivalent to P41 million to P83 million, with full reviewed results due by September 30.

Stanbic Bank Botswana Limited expects group profit before tax for the six months ended June 30, 2026, to increase by between 10 percent and 20 percent, according to a cautionary announcement issued to holders of its debt securities.
The bank said profit before tax is expected to rise by between P41 million and P83 million compared with the same period last year.
Stanbic Botswana reported group profit before tax of P413 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025. Based on the latest guidance, first-half profit before tax for 2026 is expected to range from approximately P454 million to P496 million.
Cautionary Notice
The announcement was issued in accordance with section 10.12 of the Botswana Stock Exchange Debt and Specialist Listing Requirements.
The provision requires an issuer to publish a cautionary announcement when it is in possession of potentially price-sensitive information.
Stanbic said “full details of the performance” would be contained in its abridged reviewed consolidated financial statements for the half year ended June 30, 2026.
Those financial statements are expected to be published by September 30, 2026.

The bank did not disclose the factors behind the anticipated increase in profitability in the cautionary announcement.
The full results are expected to provide more detail on first-half performance, including whether the increase was associated with net interest income, non-interest revenue, credit performance, cost management or a combination of factors.
