The 2nd of November is the tastiest date on the foodie calendar with the return of an annual event that showcases what’s hot and exciting in the world of wine, food and cooking. This year’s amazing Gaborone Food and Wine show to be hosted at the Airport Junction mall promises to be the culinary and wine event of 2013.
Speaking to Time Out about the concept behind the Food and Wine show, one of the organizers Tshepo Ntshole said, “We decided to have this kind of show because day events are not so popular here, therefore there were no platforms available for people to relax and have food, wine and lifestyle experiences during the day.”
The event is expected to bring a melting pot of cuisine, award winning wines and other tastes to Botswana, attracting close to 100 different award winning wine houses, premium drink brands and niche food exhibitors.
Commenting on what’s new at this year’s show Ntshole said, “This time around we are cooking something bigger and better as there is going to be more food because we didn’t have a lot of food last year. Another exciting new addition to look forward to is the cooking presentation by our very own renowned Chef ,MacJon Mosenene at the Defy/ OH Interiors Kitchen who will make sure our guests get a taste of the extraordinary. We will also host the anchor and presenter of Carte Blanche, Derek Watts who will be the official taster,” she said.
Tickets are currently available at the Gabz FM studios, Ribs and Rumps (Masa Center), Cappellos (Masa Center) and Airport Junction Management Office for P150. A ticket will get you a wine tasting glass, tokens and a goodie bag on entry.
The show is supported by The Botswana Gazette, Defy Botswana, OH Interiors, Optima Kitchens, Bokomo Botswana, GabzFM, @HOME, Air Botswana, O3 Beverages, Hawk Eye Risk Solutions, Airport Junction Mall, Robertson’s Spices and Ace Of Diamonds.
