Bistro and lounge opens in iTowers

A joint Mexican bistro and lounge with a terrace opened its doors at the bustling iTowers building in the Central Business District (CBD) last week. Jessy’s Bistro and Chez Nicolas Lounge, owned by Nicholas Zakhem of Lewama Investments specializes in craft cocktails, champagne, Mexican inspired cuisines, DJs and live music. It is a place to eat outside on a summer’s day, a spot for satisfying Mexican fare or a craft cocktail and a venue for those who want to get down and boogie to the beat of live bands. The mixed use venue also caters for quiet family dinners, parties and presentations.
“We leased out the first floor of the iTowers and we figured we should bring something different into the space. We also have a wide range of patrons as Lewana Investments also owns both Sky Lounge and Liban Mediterranean restaurant and our patrons advised that we introduce something family friendly that caters for the older generations as there are few spots in town catering for them. The other reason we decided to open this lounge and bistro was because we wanted to grow our investment because the CBD is also growing,” said the operations manager, Lobito Ncube.
The new eatery will be open from 7:30 am until 11:30 pm with the lounge opening from 1pm until late. According to Ncube, the spot targets corporates surrounding the CBD, tourists who come into town and anyone who wants a cosy and relaxing spot to hang out. “For the lounge, it is strictly smart casual and there is an admission fee of P150 at the manager’s discretion. However, the fee exempts those who book earlier, senior citizens and executives,” explained Ncube.
The menu features an assortment of classic Mexican starters and traditional dishes. The slick space of the new venue is in the form of a maze and the décor is colour coded in mostly red and white.
