Batswana make winning debuts

Letang Mogotlhwane made a winning debut in the Singapore Netball Super League this past weekend as she helped Blaze Dolphins defeat Hildah Binang’s Mission Mannas 52-44 to continue their chase for a place as the top seeded team in the league.

 
Dolphins produced the highest scoring points tally of 52 this past weekend. After the weekend result, Dolphins top the latest league standings and they are left with four more fixtures before the playoffs. They will be guaranteed a place in the final if they get maximum points in their remaining fixtures.

 
The weekend’s defeat was a second losing start to the season for Binang. She lost her first game last season, but later led her team, Sneakers Stingrays to the playoffs. In other results Violet Oneile also made a winning debut as her club, Magic Marlins won 45-31 against Stingrays. Meanwhile, Sarona Hans’ first appearance for M1 Starfish resulted in a 28-43 loss against Tiger Sharks. The league will resume this weekend when Starfish take on Mission Mannas, Tiger Sharks face Marlins and Blaze Dolphins clash with Stingrays.
