BTCL splashes P110 million to revamp products and service offering

In the continuing effort to put its customers’ satisfaction at the center of its activities, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL) has spent about P110 million to revamp its products and services, revealed Solomon Rabewu, Head of Corporate and Government Accounts. “BTCL’s wide network coverage uniquely positioned it in the market but its prehistoric products and services set back its delivery. The agile technological changes in the business environment outpaced BTCL’s product and service offering and delivery. The urgency with which the business community demanded an enhancement of the product/service offering in order to meet their burgeoning needs motivated BTCL to revamp its products/services offering lest our customers found alternative service providers,” he added.

A video presentation was made to unveil the new products and services and these covered a wide scope of fixed, mobile and convergence dimensions. The new products will significantly impact the internet, fixed lines and metro price structures thus making it cheaper for customers to use them. BTCL Managing Director Paul Taylor alluded among others, to the converged voice conferencing solution that he said customers will enjoy. The solution will allow customers to connect with multiple users using either a mobile phone or a fixed line.
