Builds an 800-seater conference centre

TraveLodge is nearing the completion of an expansion project of their flagship property situated in Block 3. The Hotel is expanding its offering to 115 rooms as well as adding a state of the art TraveLodge Conference Centre (TLCC). The move comes as an effort to cater for the growing demand for top quality and affordable events facilities.

“The TraveLodge Group is very excited to offer the accommodation and conferencing market in Gaborone a fresh new affordable option. The development is a key element of Phase Two of our strategy for TraveLodge. With this brand new venue and rooms we are essentially extending our promise of ‘We take Care of you’ to reach even more Batswana,” stated TraveLodge Operations Director, Justin Jose.

The development at the hotel includes an additional 31 bedrooms, bringing the total number of rooms to 115. The showpiece of the property is the 800 capacity (when seated) TLCC, which has a versatile lay out to accommodate smaller groups of people. The building also features boardrooms, relaxation areas as well as a sophisticated bar and garden area.

Cameron Thompson, TraveLodge General Manager, commented; “The new developments will allow us to host conferencing, weddings, live music events and still be able to accommodate our regular guests. We have grown steadily over the last three years and are proud to offer Gaborone a fantastic experience at a good price. TraveLodge is committed to contributing immensely to Botswana’s growing and promising hospitality industry. As a result, we expect to employ a total of 100 Batswana at TraveLodge Hotel and Travelodge Conference Centre.”

The new Conference Centre will be equipped with state of the art audio visual equipment, acoustic designed ceilings and sound dampening wall panelling. The property also has facilities for VIP guests as well as bar entertainment areas and a landscaped garden to add to the charm of the property. To comfortably manage traffic on the property, a secure parking lot has been developed with two exits and a capacity for 300 cars.
