From healthy delicious meals, freshly squeezed juices and a combination of fitness activities, the sports and social hub of Gaborone, Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, has introduced AvaniFit.
The new concept caters for the health-conscious traveler or local guests who wish to continue with the lifestyle while they travel or are on holiday.
“As a fitness fanatic, a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to stop when you travel and the AvaniFit positions Avani as a place that closes that gap,” the Marketing Executive at Avani, Thapelo Mmono, told Time Out in an interview.
“You can visit Avani and find gym amenities – the swimming pool, squash, volleyball and a lot of other fitness-related activities to take up during your stay. We have partnered with a personal trainer whom you can get in touch with to continue your workouts while our kitchen is ready to serve healthy and delicious meals.”
AvaniFit was officially launched at the resort over the weekend when it hosted fitness fanatics from all walks of life and equipped them with information and tools to carry on their fitness journeys. Avani partnered with industry leaders such as Chyna Mokaila, Charity Thubuka and yoga instructor Drake Selwe for the best in current fitness trends and to lead fitness fanatics in exciting workout routines.
Said Mokaila: “Fitness is all about taking one step at a time. It’s a lifestyle that takes a lifetime to build. A lot of people put themselves under a lot of pressure for quick fix routes that never get the desired results. Consistency pays.”
“Most importantly, you need to know your body type. Do your research so you know how your body type responds to different training programmes so you get results. Body assessments are also available and a body composition analysis is important because it cut outs the frustration of doing the wrong training.”
Avani also partnered with Mosha Spa, Coca Cola, Health Generation and 03 to ensure that all aspects of health were covered during the launch.
