Bubbles & Bites Ushers in Spring

Spring arrived with a dress code: colour, mimosas and an appetite. At Avani Gaborone, Bubbles & Bites turned brunch into a stylish excuse to eat, sip, mingle and shake off winter.

GOSEGO MOTSUMI

Winter can keep its grey skies. At Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, spring made its entrance with a mimosa in a glass, bites on the plate and a crowd dressed like the colour wheel had finally been switched back on.

The occasion was the latest edition of Bubbles & Bites, Avani’s lifestyle series built around one delicious proposition: pair good drinks with carefully curated food, then give people a reason to linger.

“We wanted to usher in the spring season in style and have people come out and celebrate,” says Avani’s Samantha Bogopa.

SIP, SNACK, SOCIALISE

This time, Bernini Mimosa took centre stage, matched with a finger-food menu designed for grazing rather than sitting politely through a three-course affair.

Think mini beef sliders, vegetable quiche bites, BBQ-dipped meatballs, chicken wraps and sesame satay skewers, followed by crispy crumbed prawns with sweet chilli dip. On the sweeter side, seasonal fruit skewers, mini chocolate éclairs and assorted cupcakes kept the sugar rush going.

The formula is deliberately social. Pick up a bite, raise a glass, find a friend — repeat.

According to Bogopa, the concept is about “introducing different drinks paired with a curated menu in a lifestyle way.”

And it seems the crowd understood the assignment.

BEAUTY GETS A SEAT AT THE TABLE

The afternoon also stretched beyond food and drinks, with Nora Cosmetics and Clicks bringing spring skincare routines and makeup trends into the conversation.

Up-and-coming Roline Beauty Studio added another layer, showcasing its work while connecting with potential new clients.

It made the brunch feel less like a meal and more like a seasonal mood board: food, beauty, fashion and conversation sharing the same table.

By the end, Bubbles & Bites had done what the best lifestyle gatherings do, turned an ordinary afternoon into an occasion. Spring, it seems, tastes better with a mimosa in hand.
