The inaugural “Bubbles in Spring” lifestyle event is set to usher in the spring season in grand style.
Slated for 26 August at Airport Junction’s Pylon Park in Gaborone,
the event is a collaboration between The Wine Culture, Stolen Moments and Instinct Media Company.
“The Bubbles event is a celebration of all things beautiful and sparkling,” events manager and producer, Vince Mosimanewakgang, told Time Out.

“It will be a daylong spectacle of world-class bubbles augmented by colourful fashion, delicious food and a captivating selection of jazz, R&B, funk and soulful music.”
As Gaborone’s entertainment lifestyle market continues to grow, the organisers of the event say they want to contribute meaningfully to it by bringing something different.
This is because they recognise that today’s patrons are always on the lookout for unique experiences. So along comes “Bubbles in Spring” to feed that urge.
“Our capital city is in dire need of events like these,” Mosimanewakgang noted. “Besides, we want to encourage Batswana to spend money locally rather than travel outside the country for this kind of joyment.”
Connotations of high culture
He added that the popularisation of bubbles has completely transformed the landscape of alcohol consumption. This is because unlike other beverages, bubbly communicates connotations of high culture and discerning palates.
“We want to celebrate the bubbly culture and bring more exciting features to the Gaborone lifestyle and tourism landscape,” he said.
Revellers can look forward to photo booth moments with South Africa’s Young, Famous and African star Andile Ncube, Kagiso de Klerk and Gaona Dintwe.
To sample and buy
Due to start at 11am, the event will also feature some of Botswana’s celebrated old school DJs like Frostbite, Shaft People, and Kyle, to name but a few.
Said the organiser: “People should expect a bubbly and classy event with beautiful personalities, great décor, delicious food. We’ll be offering a variety of bubbles to sample and buy. We are ready to host and just waiting for the day of the event.
“We want the culture to grow bigger and to expand it to other parts of the country. We want local beverage distributors to make sales and improve their business bottom lines. We want the entertainment market to expand beyond where it is today.”
