Beyond the bright lights of her TV production studios, actress Connie Ferguson is a mentor and businesswoman. She recently set her sights on the continent where she has been sharing industry advice as well as unearthing new talent to be mentored by her award winning production company. Ferguson’s footprints will be tracing back to Botswana this weekend for a Creative Business Luncheon to be hosted on the 14th May at Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel.

“The event is aimed at incorporating culture and the corporate world in an attempt to grow Botswana’s film industry. Botswana talent is not cultivated to the level it should be at. This is actually Connie’s idea and something that she wants to do for the industry,” said event organizer, Thapelo Monageng.

Ferguson, is one of Africa’s most loved TV personalities and the co-founder of Ferguson Films. The main objective of her continent wide tour is to equip African filmmakers with the tools to enhance overall production skills. Her goal is to build future industry leaders through her vast network of resources, built by her experience of close to 30 years in the industry.

“She was recently on tour in Zimbabwe carrying out a series of events to empower people in the arts industry as well as inspiring those who wish to reach her level. This mentorship could go on for a week or two where the selected candidates will get front row seats to learn how television production works,” said Monageng

The Creative Business Luncheon is supported by Destiny Media, Gabz FM and tickets are selling for P1000 including lunch.
