After successfully hosting Emmanuel Musaka from Zambia in February and South Africa’s multi-award winner Sifiso Nene in March, Major Moves Comedy is bringing Lesotho’s renowned comic Masapo Mpiti for their April show. The show is slated for Friday the 5th of April at Masa Square Hotel in the CBD.
The show will be hosted by Onkgopotse “Mdala Ka Tjeludo” Mugende and will also feature Dumisani ‘Maforty’ Ndlovu from Zimbabwe, Abel Maruza from Kasane, Augustus Phillimon from Francistown and other up and coming comedians. Maruza is one of Botswana’s funniest comics and the man behind Robert Mugabe Quotes page which has over 3 million followers all over Africa, Europe and America.
“Since we introduced monthly shows we have had tremendous support and are now exploring ways of getting Botswana talent to shine internationally. KLo will be performing in Kenya at the end of March, Thapelo Malani will be in Swaziland in April and Maruza will be going to Zambia in May. With these events we also build relations and exchange talent with other countries in our quest to create a sustainable market and continual artist development,” said events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy Gaolathe Kediemetse.
The venue sponsor is Masa Square Hotel which is in the heart of the city in the CBD. There will a comedy event at the hotel every First Friday of the month featuring a star studded lineup. Tickets for the event are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets, priced from P150 single and P200 double. The show starts at 7:30pm.
