Afro pop artist Lizibo Simon will on the 14th February release a 12-track album dubbed Malebeswa, an Ikalanga word meaning truth.
Through this new album Lizibo says he will be telling  the truth about himself, honouring the month of love as well as those who have been with him through his musical journey from day one to date.
“This is where I tell the truth about so many things about myself. With the title song, Malebeswa I finally tell a certain lady who has been hearing that I’m in love with her the truth,” he said.
He says the album will be released in time for Valentines, a day that celebrates love globally. The artist says he intentionally reserved the date for the album release because love is his ministry as most of his songs talk about it.
“My fans can definitely expect a lot of matters relating to the heart. They should be ready for inspiration at its best on how and what to say to your better half. Valentine’s is a time to celebrate love and I believe that is my ministry,” the Tjimunyamunya hit maker told Time Out.
Lizibo has worked with producer and gospel sensation Tshepo Lesole and collaborated with the likes of Ndingo Johwa, Mosako, Sasa Klass and Sadi Dikgaka for the upcoming album. “There were plans to work with foreign musicians on this album such as Vusi Nova and Jazel Brothers but circumstances did not allow for now and we decided to keep on working on the ideas till further notice,” he revealed when asked why he was not following the current trend of collaborating with foreign artists.
Lizibo also said in making his new album, he was motivated by the need to honour those who have continuously supported him. He also revealed that he will continue planning, directing and funding his owns shows like he did last year at Maitisong in Gaborone.
“The hurtful truth is that we don’t make much from CD sales hence I have started making my own shows with my own entertainment company Sound Vibes. The reason why I decided to make my own shows is because there is a high injustice regarding remuneration from some promoters,” he explained.
Lizibo added that he will start mini launches of his album in Jwaneng Cresta Hotel on 14th  February and on 17th  February in Palapye at Majestic 5 Hotel.
