The latest offering from jazz songbird, Punah Gabasiane is a 5th Afro Jazz album dubbed “Jazzing Up”. The new album is a showcase of her 16 years of continuous learning and discovery of her lyrical skills, vocal development and new instrumental sounds explorations. “With the album titled Jazzing I believe that I have stepped artistic delivery a notch up.” she says. Jazzing Up is a 10-track album which comprises of inspirational songs mostly vernacular while some are in English. Surprisingly some of the songs are not ‘the usual Punah sound’ as her wish is to keep evolving her brand. Punah worked with young Batswana, producers and instrumentalists to showcase that indeed Botswana has musical talents and unparalleled sound qualities. Punah is now under new management, Black Eagle Management from South Africa who collaborate with Punah Entertainment Botswana Management. Punah will sample some of her new songs including Dinoka, Jazzing Up, Bodimo, Pula, Go Tsofala Yo Ratang and Lentswe among others at a listening session today (30th January).
