Sky Girls BW will host an event dubbed SKYchella on 24th March at Ba Isago University Hall (Block 7) in Gaborone.
The free entry event, which will be hosted by Sadi Dikgaka and Kefus Leo, starts from 10am to 3pm and is for teenage girls only.
SKY is a movement that encourages girls to stay true to themselves and to express themselves through fashion, art, music, poetry and dance. Lined up activities for the day include makeup tutorials, dance classes, selfie booth, DIY clothes stall, fashion swap stall and refreshments.
SKY Project coordinator Elle Brooks said “We are very excited to be able to afford teenage girls with the opportunity to have a SKY experience. Everything is free of charge, including transport from Rail Park Mall to the event. Girls should not worry about spending money at the event.”
Teen girls can look forward to performances by local and South African artists who include Busiswa, Han C, Samantha Mogwe, Katlego Ntirang, Strut N Heels, TNT Dance Crew and many others.
As a way of enhancing the experience for the attendees, SKY will give 20 lucky teenage girls a VIP experience on the day. Lucky winners will have an all access VIP ticket giving them access to meet artists and get autographs. There are 20 golden VIP tickets, 10 have been hidden inside the latest issue of SKY Magazine currently being distributed; the rest of the tickets will be given as prizes over radio.
“We look forward hosting the girls and I would like to assure parents that their kids will be safe, and the event will end during the day to give the girls time to get back home before dark,” Brooks assured.
