ACCA Botswana welcomes Global President

ACCA Botswana is hosting its global president Mr Leo Lee , who will partake in a series of events which started yesterday (Monday) and continue today.
According to ACCA Country Manager, Mr Keefelakae Moloi the president’s visit is significant to the ACCA Botswana as it affords members, employers and key stakeholders the opportunity to engage on a wide range of subjects relevant to the accountancy profession.
With over 25 years’ experience in accounting, regulation and asset management, Leo is also an independent non-executive director of two Hong Kong listed companies. Mr Leo Lee holds LLB degree from the University of London and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong. He has a wealth of experience having worked as a senior civil servant in the Hong Kong government. He has also held various posts in the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) Hong Kong, including director of corporate planning, director of licensing and director of finance and administration.
Mr Leo Lee will address members during engagement sessions starting with the Employers’ dinner which will be held at Cresta Lodge, Gaborone. The Stakeholder Engagement seminar will then follow on Tuesday at Fairground Holdings to discuss “The role of professional Accountants in Botswana’s Vision 2036” where colleagues from the profession including Mr Kealeboga Molelowatladi, Deputy Accountant General (Ministry of Finance and Economic Development), Kebafentse Helen Ketshajwang, Chief Auditor- Quality Assurance from Office of Auditor General, Mr Enock Mushango (Former President of BIOB) and Ms Verily Molatedi ( CEO-BICA) will form part of the panel discussion.
Mr Moloi concluded that as ACCA they continue to seek more ways in which they can contribute to national economies through research insights and forums of topical importance as well as sharing ideas in this evolving global business environment.
