Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) today announced that it will host the 1st ever Digital Shift BW summit from 8 – 9 July in Gaborone. Digital Shift BW which is free for all Businesses and people interested in technology and digital transformation, brings together local and international leaders, visionaries, digital innovators, and changemakers who are at the forefront of digital transformation to share their knowledge
Anthony Masunga, the Managing Director of BTC, said: “We are extremely excited about this Summit. What we have in store will allow a business to connect the dots and combine their own unique strategies with digital insight and engineering to figure out how to make trailblazing digital shifts to the future. And that is why we have called this new platform ‘Digital Shift’. Through it we hope to turbocharge the growth and development of our country and encourage a full embrace of digital transformation”.
The summit, which is part of the ongoing BTC@40 Celebrations, is an international event meant to demonstrate BTC’s capabilities and readiness in the era of the 4IR as we RESET and REALIGN to increase Botswana’s competitiveness in global markets. The Summit will allow participants to engage with one another and directly with BTC and partner engineers and thought leaders to leverage technology and understand future trends fully.
In line with the theme Digital Shift BW “Transforming for success in the digital age,” the Summit will provide insights and hands-on experience in the latest advancements in 4IR technologies from cloud & agility to data & analytics to automation & artificial intelligence among others.
COVID-19 and Health & Safety at the Summit
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants will be able to join and participate in the conference via the internet on the www.digitalshift.bw platform and via the BTC Facebook page and other social media platforms. There will be minimal in person attendance at the event to comply with COVID-19 protocols and the current Government restrictions on gatherings. The lineup of Keynote speakers at the Digital Shift BW will be announced by 30 June 2021.
