In their bid to promote thought-provoking discussions around sexual health and real and honest dialogue on the psychology and science behind sex, ESTeRES by Michelle Phetlhe will stage the third instalment of “Just Sex.”

Slated for 18 November at Cresta Lodge in Gaborone, the event developed from the annual Women’s Etiquette Brunch and was first held in November of 2018.

“As much as we thought we are a conservative people who cannot speak openly about sex, the event has proved to be a highly engaging and interactive session where attendees spoke of their experiences,” Phetlhe told Time Out.

“They openly shared their struggles and opinions. We have managed to create a safe space.”

Topics under discussion
This year’s edition will engage on the topic on Sexology delivered by Dr Elna Rudolph who is the event’s resident sexologist.

Over the years she has comfortably taken Batswana through a series of discussions that included pleasure, painful sex, intimacy and how anything less than 72 thrusts is premature ejaculation.

Dr Lucky Odirile, a famous TV personality, will delve into the topic of Navigating Relationships while Dr Vincent Molelekwa will tap into his knowledge and experience from running a clinic that restores hope to tackle matters of Fertility, Infertility and Men’s Health.

Laone Monkge will share her story of endometriosis. She has sat in the audience before and can vouch for the event being a great platform for awareness, acquiring knowledge and asking questions while engaging with speakers. This year she joins the speakers to shed light on issues with her own story.

Movember and World Aids Day
According to Phetlhe, the event consistently aims for execution in the month of November so as to commemorate it as the Month of Men’s Health styled Movember and coincide with World Aids Day on 1st December.

“Our mandate is to use our event to continue a conversation and as an awareness tool,” she explained. “This helps to activate, gear up and mitigate where important messages easily get lost in the excitement of year-end festivities and clutter of the busy season.”
She added that the idea is to carry the message of sexual health and wellness forward annually under the event concept.

In partnership with Durex
This is their second year in partnership with Durex, which makes perfect sense because the Durex brand is intentional about applying themselves to sharing product knowledge and education.

Durex is committed to promoting responsible sex and reproductive healthcare, as well as to sharing the safer sex message worldwide through development and support of sexual health initiatives.

The event’s tickets are going for P300 Single and P500 Double and are inclusive of a light dinner, drinks and gifts. Enquiries can be sent to esteresagency@gmail.com, WhatsApp + 267 71619565/71663953 or the Facebook Page Just Sex.
